Position Purpose and Scope
The senior marketing manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and executing a broad range of lead generation programs designed to drive qualified opportunities to the sales force, including Web seminars, conferences, custom events, user group meetings, advertising, etc. This person will be responsible for managing the end-to-end planning and execution for these programs including budget, staffing, messaging and lead follow-up processes. The senior marketing manager must also own and report on end-to-end metrics for their programs and independently institute refinements to improve inquiry-to-lead-to-Opportunity conversion ratios. The senior marketing manager will work closely with the sales, marketing and executive management teams to achieve a fully integrated company position and consistent message in the minds of target audiences.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive lead generation/demand creation plan & budget
- Design, plan and execute at least 2 Web seminars a month
- Design, plan and execute participation at conferences and trade shows
- Design, plan and execute online advertising with affiliated partners like the IIBA, Modern Analyst, etc.
- Design, plan and execute field marketing events and user group meetings
- Leverage tools to accurately measure and report on effectiveness of lead generation campaigns
- Create, manage and accurately forecast program budgets
- Work with product marketing to effectively launch new products and services
- Independently create relevant, compelling content in support of all lead generation activities
- Apply a high degree of creativity on all marketing programs
- Establish and document repeatable processes for lead generation and follow-up by sales
- Build a positive, collaborative relationship with the sales organization
- Leverage partners to help maximize marketing budget and reach
- Manage relationships with appropriate tools vendors that enable more effective utilization and reporting
- Remove roadblocks to lead generation success
- Contribute strategic ideas and vision for how to effectively scale overall business
Required Experience
- 3-5 years enterprise (B2B) software lead generation experience
- Proven track record of establishing and achieving measurable goals in an automated marketing environment
- Proven track record understanding and managing metrics-driven marketing programs
- Experience with start-up environments, particularly companies on aggressive growth paths
- Strong understanding of positioning principles and methodology
- Experience using systems such as Salesforce.com, Eloqua, Hoovers, Jigsaw, etc.
- Sound, mature business judgment combined with the ability to contribute to business strategy
- Operates with integrity without compromise
